A.12. Julie Yontz Rupp: EXPERIMENTAL MIXED MEDIA (all levels)

Start with inks and acrylics, add some textures, collage, and printmaking and you have a perfect recipe for a mixed media masterpiece. Mixed media offers lots of opportunity for creative expression: easy and not intimidating for a beginner and challenging for the advanced artist. Each student will accumulate several exciting “starts.” We will then study composition, value, focal point and line work to bring the painting to a fabulous, frameable finish. We will also explore combining mediums and textural effects, creating altered papers along with other exciting techniques. Each student is encouraged to retain their own style while searching for the best solution to their exciting “starts.” Expect a lively fun class with each session to include demos, critiques, one-on-one time, positive interaction among classmates and lots of time to create. Bring a positive attitude and spirit open to endless artistic possibilities.
